I was amused by the "white man" too. I also found the "diamond" sign for the carpool lane funny :)

The SmallTalk-ish way of deploying, running, debugging self-contained images is pretty cool. It's pretty awesome to freeze an app, transfer the image to a different box, or debug on your dev machine and resume the app again.

@harish Oh is that what the diamond is? Heh, didn't know. And yea, the persistent image paradigm is pretty neat and is how DabbleDB is possible.

Now Maglev is really interesting. Avi's showmanship definitely helped (he was putting and pulling rabbits out of the hat across different Ruby VMs). But Maglev is interesting in a different way JRuby / Rubinius is.
